Job offer withdrawn - so upset

I feel so upset and a bit humiliated. Last week I applied for a job. I interviewed last and they were so impressed with me they offered me the job on the spot. Its a high paying role. I was delighted. I was introduced to the team and everyone seemed friendly. On the way out as the manager was walking me out I explained I wasnt able to do a particular skill (it would be too identifying to say which). At no stage was this particular skill mentioned but apparently without it the job would be incredibly difficult. At no stage was it officially stated as necessary. In front of everyone I was asked to come to the managers office to discuss. They sat there looking disappointed and annoyed that I did not have a skill that was not mentioned once in the job advert! The manager said she was sure something could be sorted to accommodate my lack of this skill. However the employer called the next day to retract the job offer. Admitting the skill was not mentioned in the job description or personal specification but everyone knows it would be almost impossible to do the job without it and me being on the team would make it difficult for everyone else on the team. I was polite and won't apply for that type of job again. There's jobs where I will be accepted. Sadly I wasn't given the chance as I have done the same job many times and have found ways around it. I am well qualified for the job. This whole experience has left me feeling really deflated and has knocked my confidence. AIBU to think this employer should have honoured the job offer (although I am glad I found out now rather than start a job where I am not wanted) ? My inability to do this skill is due to a minor disability that has never impacted me in this line of work before.
