I'm a little bit obsessed by reading about NDE experiences

I really would love to have one

If you've had one, what happened?

Near death experience? Can't say it's a position I would like to put myself in to experience...

Have you looked into lucid dreaming? Much safer although not really the same thing. Still very wooooo though.

Yes I have tried lucid dreaming but unsuccessfully

I'm not going to try and have an NDE or anything

Just wish I knew what happened at death

Near death experience?

But that would make the last "E" redundant. Near Death Experience experience.

And if it is that why on earth would you want to be in a position where you were "near death"!!

Like PIN number and TSB Bank, both of which irritate me more than they should.

Hmm fair point 🤔

Yeah, nearly dying sounds awesome! Not something that would traumatise you at all.

Confused

I did... All pain stopped, vision dwindled to circles (did feel like I was at the far end of an ever-lengthening tunnel). Sounds became muffled then stopped altogether, and it was all very calm and I felt very removed.

Then I came to in A&E after being given a shot of adrenaline and calm was no longer the order of the day!

You don't want one Pizza. It's horrible. The very definition of powerless and impotent.

Missed your reply there op.

Well I suppose it is at least something we're all going to find out one day.

My favourite theory on life after death is Andy Weir's An Egg

I don't know

@MonaChopsis one sounds rather peaceful until the coming to part

Yes the nearly dying part was far less traumatic than the being brought back to life part, although obviously in retrospect I'm quite glad I did that bit too Wink

@Cornettoninja I can't read that the text comes up so small but will google and have a nose

@MonaChopsis see that's what I'm jealous of... experiencing what it might be like but coming back. Did you lose your fear of death through it?

I haven’t had one but I enjoy reading about them Smile

I have had quite a few lucid dreams though.

The ones I find myself particularly wishing for are ones where they get told to go back as they have a purpose or work to do yet etc

How cool would that be to know your reason for existing!

Only happens to me approximately 11pm.

Sadly about 6am I appear to rise from the dead again.

I've had one where I nearly drowned as a kid.

Panicked first, then felt very calm and sort of sleepy, vision and hearing were muted.

Then I got pulled out of the water and the searing pain in my chest quickly put an end to the calm while I coughed up what felt like most of a swimming pool.

Certainly not an experience I'd ever wish to repeat.

See the dying bit actually sounds lovely in comparison to the coming back part again @BillywigSting

Do you have any fear of death now?
