AIBU?

Ocado delivery

Unfortunately I've just realised I might miss my Ocado delivery tomorrow. The FAQs on the website say they can't guarantee that the driver will be able to return later. I'm happy to accept I might not get my shopping, but does anyone know whether I'd still be charged?

I know I'm BU for posting this in AIBU - sorry!

I had this happen when teen ds didn't hear the doorbell (still asleep at noon). I was only charged for the things they couldn't put back on the shelves. Still £ 40 down the drain but not as bad as the full cost.

Can you let them know?

I’ve moved my delivery before by phone - can’t remember the details but they were really helpful

Not Ocado but I slept through an Asda delivery once Blush (in my defence I just got back from scout camp and was drop dead exhausted) I actually got a full refund automatically

I've left a message on the door telling them to leave the shopping outside (obviously needs to be somewhere safe) and they've done that before

Just ring them tonight, tell them due to a personal crisis you may not be in, and book a time you definitely can be. I doubt they would agree to leave it, but you could ask I guess.

They’d probably prefer you let them know so it’s not a wasted journey

Have you got a gate to your garden or similar? I asked Ocado to leave it behind the gate (was cold outside!) and they did - they just won’t take responsibility for ruined goods if so...

It’s easy to ring them and tell them and they may well be able to rearrange the delivery for you. If they can’t then they will probably charge you for the fresh produce, although if you cancel now - if they can’t rearrange - they may be able to stop the whole process before anything is sorted and packed.

Just ring them!

Thanks all. I did ring them and they'll leave it outside: albeit without the booze!
