AIBU?

To dump the pan over DH's head?

I made a stew three days ago. Popped the pan in the fridge to save the leftovers. DH has an issue eating food a day after cooking so he took it out of the fridge to bin it when we didn't have it for lunch the next day (absolute longest he would eat leftovers)
Stuff happened, we were busy and the pan was left for a day.
Then DH did the washing up last night but left the pan on the side behind some things untouched. I never noticed.

Now tonight I moved it and it has fermented! Oh my effing GOD IT STINKS!!!!

I want to throw my favourite pan into the wheelie bin!

AIBU wanting to beat DH to death with the pan?

How do you not notice a pan on your counter for 2 days? Confused

Get a grip woman Grin. Just scoop the shitty food out and give it a soak.

He has an issue with gone off food but hid a dirty pan to fester in the kitchen? Very odd annoying behaviour from your dh there.

@BatteredBreadedOrSouthernFried We've been out mostly and the pan was put behind some items on the worktop. (Slow cooker and a cardboard box full of the kids Halloween treats)
It was moving those that made the smell emerge. Ew ew ew!!!!

He should deal with it.

Agreed @ILostItInTheEarlyNineties. Makes no sense. He sees pre cooked food as if it's on a strict timer and is off after quite a short while. If he had just left it in the fridge it would have kept relatively fresh (the kitchen is always hot) and I would have noticed it.

The offending item has now been dumped out directly into the wheelie bin - no compulsory recycling here in this area. And I've got it soaking by an open window. Envy (not jealousy)

I do not do well with offensive smells 😂😂

Could you ask dh to put his head in the wheelie bin later? You think you "dropped your phone" in there earlier? Wink

If he is so finicky about left overs why don't you freeze stuff rather than having it lurking in the fridge? Get those freezer bags from a supermarket that don't take up too much room and a sharpie pen handy to label with the date and contents.

Throw the contents down the toilet. Wash pan. Job done.
