Ok so a bit of a strange one.

I rent my home from my exes mum. His mum had lived there for about 38 years so had a good relationship with the man next door.

Man next door had a fall and has been in hospital since, he has no family so ExMil is his next of kin. She moved 2 years ago and now lives at the opposite end of the country (hence me renting her house) so her Ex, lets call him Bob has been doing all the stuff for the neighbour. Bob lived there with ExMIL for many years and has always been around so knows man next door well.

Bob is my exes older sisters dad, and is still close with ExMil, they still visit each other despite having been separated for more than 20 years. I have a son with my EX and everyone has over the years spent time together and we are all very much family.

Bob has been giving me a lift to the hospital to visit neighbour and calling me with updates etc. We get along well and chat on the way to the hospital. We have known each other for a long time.

Well he has asked me on a date! I laughed it off and said how we are practically family and I didn't think it would go down very well.

I was trying to spare his feelings, he is more that twice my age.

Well he hasn't taken the hint and said we wouldn't have to tell anyone and we have the perfect alibi of visiting neighbour.

So WIBU to tell this guy that he is having a laugh and I am amazed that he even suggested it! It would be more that inappropriate for us to start carrying on! Imagine if we fell in love and got married!

My son would become his Aunties stepbrother.
I would become my Sil's Mil.
My Mil would be my partners Ex

It's beyond crazy. Why on earth do some men think they can just do what they want!

Ugh. Why would you want a relationship that needs an alibi. You might have to keep him at arms length for a while if he didnt take no for an answer the first time.
