Pleasantly surprised by gender equality at Butlins

Just got back from a half term break at Butlins and was pleasantly surprised that the Skyline Gang (headline act/Butlins celebs) were made up of 4 women and 3 men (plus a dog who I assume is male).

After watching all the children's TV with female characters outnumbered or being secondary to their male counterparts it was a nice change.

Of course DD's favourite was the pink girl though (sigh).

I think there's a lot more women who train in the performing arts than men, so I don't think it's that surprising.

Pandora no reason really, she's just a stereotypical girl who likes pink despite my best efforts to avoid gender stereotypes.

I'd prefer it if she liked Misty or Pip best as they are not girly girls. Misty is my favourite because she's cheeky

Whatever people say about gender equality , girls often do like pink and fluffy things (and boys like trains and diggers). Not all I grant you, but lots do.

Which one did you go to, Nquartz? Bognor Regis Dude is chunkier and older than Minehead Dude. Haven’t tried Skegness Dude yet

don't underestimate the social pressure that exists in nurseries and pre-schoolss. There is a thing called bandwagon.

Colours don’t have any kind of sex specific signifier other than what society tells us at the time.
