To be annoyed with Virgin Media

After many issues with their engineer and the process taking around 5 weeks i had finally had my Virgin fibreoptic installed last month.

However, I went to their website this morning, and they are offering the same bundle £8 cheaper to new customers! I'm absolutely fuming!

AIBU for wanting to contact them and trying to get the price down?
What would you say to them?

Yanbu call them, say you've seen the bundle you're currently on being advertised cheaper and you want that price. I've done this before with no issues.

I'm not sure why you are absolutely fuming, prices change all the time. Would you be so annoyed if the price had gone up?

It's definitely worth a phone call though.

DH is always phoning and renegotiating with them he’s loves the challenge grin and he’s generally successful at getting something

The art is to have an idea what you want, same price, broadband upgrade of speed etc

I think most will agree with you, OP, but I don't. You were happy with the price as advertised, you agreed a contract, and some time later Virgin Media decided to reduce the price to promote the product to new customers. I don't see anything wrong with that. They might reduce your rate if you call them but I think "absolutely fuming" is an overreaction.

Call them tell them you're leaving and they ll reprice (that's what we all do !)
