To be nervous about upcoming Cairo trip?

A client is sending me to Cairo for 3 days before xmas. I haven't got details yet but it is a research trip and good money so I hope to go. I am going to wait and see what they come back with in terms of plan and transport but I am quite worried. Probably irrational... ish. Reluctant about drive from airport to city as there are so many road traffic accidents regardless of driver. Any tips much appreciated
