Posting here for traffic and advice.

Clearing the back of the garden to put a shed there. Massive pile of garden waste and leaves etc.

In the middle of the pile is a hedgehog.

I don't know what to do with it. I want to keep it in the garden but I need to clear this space.
So aibu to not have a clue

Put it in another hedge.

Leave some catfood and water out and move him to another hedge.

And it will probably move of its own accord. If you can leave a batch of leaves, sticks, logs, it will appreciate it.

You could get a hedgehog house...though I dont know how you persuade a hog into using it

www.hedgehogstreet.org/

Log him here. And there's advice too! They want to record all sightings as they're getting fewer.

I started a thread over in Gardening as I've just had my first ever hedgehog visitors! Loads of helpful replies from those in the know Smile

Could you create a similar pile in another corner and move the hedgehog over there?

bake them in clay. When you crack the clay open after it's cooked, the spikes and skin will stay on the clay and you can enjoy the meat. The clay keeps the steam in and it's very tender.
