Netmums article

It's about how to make sure your child benefit gets spent on kids activities this summer.

It just seems really off to me, mainly because of the assertation that CB is treat money for the kids.

It's like the little woman sitting at home with the kids has to keep the CB behind so she can treat them. No mention of a wage, or a partner's wage. Surely for most people the CB is just part of the overall family income? It also implies that if you're not spending it directly on the kids you are doing something wrong.

It just comes off as really patronising and has given me the rage.

Aibu? Am I seeing things that aren't there or does anyone else see what I mean?

‘Once you've decided what your priorities are for your Child Benefits payments - it could be the food shop, childcare, days outs or education - transfer the money into a different account.
'This ensures it's only used for that purpose and doesn’t end up being used to cover other costs.'

It's £20.70 a week. That's £124.20 over the summer holidays. It then goes on to say that it costs £468 to entertain the kids.

Given it's just cost me £220 for new school uniform and shoes, I'm not going to be getting very far on the CB.
