Apologises I realise this isn't am AIBU but I need some help and advice and thought AIBU gets more traffic so here goes.
I have been on the mini pill for the last 3 years and on Sunday I started getting cramps and on Monday I started with a really light out of the blue period. It's mostly been brown blood but it's now changed to light bleeding. Its first the "period" I've had in 3 years and the only thing that I can think that could've caused it was taking my pill a few hours late one day last week. Has this happened to anyone else it's annoying and I was enjoying the break from my periods.

Imer thank you for your help it did worry me a bit which sounds stupid but it's been 3 years since my last period so I had no idea what was going on. I will wait and see what happens before I speak to the gp.

I wish I could go 3 years without periods, I think I'm a little jealous!

I've been on various mini pills for a lot of the last 16 years (apart from when having children) and have very rarely not had breakthrough bleeding. Had no bleeding for about 3 months recently and was hoping it would carry on like that, it unfortunately didn't. What I am trying to say is that it can come and go, normally without reason.

One thing to check is if the pills have to be taken within 3 hours of the due time, or if you get up to 12 hours like my current one. If 3 hours and you took it too late there is the possibility of being pregnant, one way to find out is to do a test just in case.

OhBeggerItsMorning haha lol I don't even know how I have managed to go 3 years without one but my god is it bliss. I've been on the same mini pill for 3 years but I always seem to get different brands so I wouldn't know what the window is for taking it a bit late. I will have to check the packets and see what it says. I will have to do a test and hope to god I'm not. Thank you for you help and advice. Hopefully its just one of those things and it will go just as fast as it arrived.
