AIBU?

To ask what to do with my last day of freedom

I'm going back to work next week after a year of maternity leave. DD will be at the Childminder's all day tomorrow for a practice day. I won't have another child-free day for the foreseeable future (am single) so I don't want to waste tomorrow.

Money's tight so a lavish spa day etc. isn't an option sadly, but I do have a car.

What should I do? What would you do?

Home spa day! Book, film, bath, face mask & cheap magazines 😄 all the things you can never do while you have a baby to look after! Or nice lunch with a friend - enjoy it! X

What will you be wishing you were doing when you are back at work? Do that....

Drive to the seaside, sit on the beach, read a book, drink tea, have lunch in a cafe, potter in shops.

I finished a training course an hour and a half early the other day. I was super excited to be able to nip home and do some diy I hadn't had a chance to do for months! It had been driving me mad and was hugely satisfying. Reading a book in the sofa or in the garden all day would be bliss. Going to the cinema? Popping to a cafe without a baby. Going shopping. Dentist, optician, hairdresser visit to get them ticked off. Re-organising something at home eg storing all the clothes your dc has recently outgrown without a child grabbing your legs. Enjoy!

Ok I think I'm going to: have a non-rushed shower and do my makeup properly, drive to the seaside, have a walk then sit with a book then have lunch followed by the cinema in the afternoon. Can't wait Smile

Take a bath with the door shut, watch horror films, have a nap.

Ahh you're all giving me lots of ideas for my mat leave before dc2. 3 weeks (fingers crossed!) and DD in nursery 4 days each week.
