To want a supportive swimming costume!

Not up for a bikini for numerous reasons. Just want a one piece swimming costume that supports like a bra! Where can I find such a thing? Has to be properly supportive and not just a moulded cup.

John Lewis do these. I paid around £60 for my swimsuit but been using it for the last 5 years. It is magnificent, has creases in the right places over the tummy and makes my boobs look great, classic style that never dates . I will look at the brand and let you know tomorrow if it helps.

I've got a Freya active one that's cup sizes and feels like I'm wearing a sports bra. It's definitely a sports swimming costume though, it's not particularly attractive, and is also a lot more expensive than the"ordinary" costumes my friends but in primark, etc. I think I got it online from figleaves or brastop.

Ah that would be fantastic, thanks very much!

Bravissimo do underwired swimsuits. Same fit as their bras.

Figleaves I got mine from- moulders cups and "support" in the belly part. Was about £40 but with 20% off wasn't TOOOO bad. I've worn it loads, it's really supportive, and quite flattering even if the neckline is a bit more plunging than I'd like.

WooWoo1000 Sat 13-May-17 21:33:12

Thanks dragon but I don't think a sports one would flatter me that much, plus I'd look a bit 'all the gear and no idea'! 😂

MsAwesomeDragon Sat 13-May-17 21:49:55

It doesn't exactly flatter me either grin but since I don't wear my glasses while swimming I can happily ignore that fact. I only wear a swimming costume when I'm swimming slowly, not particularly well for exercise though, so I'm not bothered about pretty.

I had one from Panache (bought at Bravissimo I think) that had an underwired bra inside with a clasp at the back.

Magisculpt from simply be (and i think other places) depends how curvy you are although i believe they do from size 12.

Freya Active
Basically a cup sized sports bra with a swim suit on top.

I'm a 32gg and wear Zoggi swimsuits. They do a specific supportive/flattering range on their website. I've got two and love them. Comfy and supporting!

Bravissimo every time.

delilahbucket Sat 13-May-17 22:50:38

Bravissimo. I've had various swimming costumes and rankings from them. My latest brand discovery is Free by Gotex. I have bought the halter neck tankinis which stay in place without the neck bit tied. To go strapless in a 30hh is an amazing thing!

TestingTestingWonTooFree Sat 13-May-17 22:54:13

Is that a typo Brittbugs? I've had swimwear from Zoggs.

If you're a large(ish) cup size op Brastop is a good seller of brasized swimwear. I'd suggest ordering a load to try on (so you get free delivery) and then returning what doesn't fit/suit you.

Brittbugs80 Sat 13-May-17 23:02:02

Testingtesting yes it was! Sorry.

Not trying to be awkward, just didn't want op googling the wrong thing.

Marking place to check these out...

Not in Fat Face! They had cossies for £5 in the sale at MacArthur Glen. I'm a 12-14 (and about a DD). The size 14 would have been fine for my skinny, flat chested 9 year old son, but on a grown woman with boobs it was horrific. I don't understand why they don't design them for female figures...no wonder they were down from almost £40 to 5!!

You want one of these for total support
