AIBU?

Why does Ewan the dream sheep not have a remote control?

Basic design flaw surely?!

DD loves the stupid fluffy thing and if I put him on when she stirs in the night she'd go straight back off to sleep no problem. Now she's in her own bedroom and I have to channel my inner navy seal to make it across the creaky landing and into her room without her fully waking.

Who'd have thought I'd miss the good old days of nearly dislocating my shoulder contorting around to switch him on..

Does anyone have any recommendations for an Ewan sound imposter that I can operate without leaving my duvet cocoon during the small hours? Too scared of a white noise app on the iPad as ours has a tendency to get quite hot with prolonged use.

Are you me? I've said that so many times in the last few months. I recorded the lullaby thing on an old phone so that I can leave it on repeat for daytime sleep. Still have to get up to start it if she wakes early in the morning. Definitely a gap in the market

Not really helpful but I agree sooo much! Love ewan. Wish he could turn himself on.

We got a 'white noise machine' from amazon. Can't find the exact model on there now, but there are plenty. DD (now 4!!) still has it on all night.

First thing we pack whenever we're going away.

Another option is to put an electric fan in their room (cheaper short term but more expensive to run)

I downloaded a white noise app called "sound sleeper" that listened in, and only kicked in when it heard noise and then would stay on for whatever length of time you chose (or continuously all night if you wanted). Admittedly, I have to have a spare iPhone just for my baby now because I can't leave mine in his room all night, but it works!

Totally agree with you! DD is 3.5 and has had Ewan since birth (we're actually on Ewan 2). When she wakes up in the night now she turns him on herself Grinbut a remote would have been very helpful over the past few years.

I haven't got one but these: shop.myhummy.co.uk/white-noise-toys
Keep popping up on my Facebook feed.
Apparently have a motion sensor. I'm very tempted to get one!

I have sound sleeper but it just doesn't have the same effect on DD as the fucking sheep!

Going to convince DH about the myhummy, that thing looks great!

We have Kindle with a white noise app.Keep that part in our room then a Bluetooth speaker in little one's room. L ink the two up before bed and you are laughing. Actually found it that my LO sleeps better leaving it on all night. The apps have timers so you can set it for up to 24 hours.Smile

This and also whose idea was it fit the angelcare monitor to have such noisy switches! I used to put DS down asleep, put monitor on and boom, noisy switch, he'd wake up.

Argh!

Also Ewan doesn't last long enough
