I had a job I loved.Work is my life really due to unsociable hrs so the 12 hrs day have to be fulfilling..Early starts and late nights but I'm always eager to get stuck in.I guess I'm a workaholic.
Recently my line manager suddenly left so we had to work more hrs. Then I've heard of other people in line for loosing their jobs which is awkward for me.
Now I have a new line manager and the company is changing direction without warning.
I am so angry.....why couldn't they have warned us.The work is still similar however more skills are required than I've ever claimed I had.I feel out of my depth and my questions are shot down in flames.
This weekend I have to work with limited information with a huge potential to mess up.
I will have to leave I am just so bloody angry and disgusted at the constant turn over of staff.
I know I can get a job in my field or have some time out.I'm hopping mad as I feel I've been managed out.

Would you be angry?

I think this would be really frustrating and yes I would be angry. I have just decided to move on from my job for many reasons but lack of support and not being listened were a big part of my decision. Lots of changes that were not always necessary as well as a huge turn over of staff (obviously I am now not helping!) I just feel I had felt this way for too long and the best thing to do was to move on, fresh start. Life is too short and I am very good at what I do. So I got myself a new job. Now I just have to work my notice.........I loved my job and have many friends there so it's going to hurt but I am happy with my decision.

So is moving in realistic for you? Has it come to the end of the road or is it worth riding it out until everything is stable after all the changes? Do you have a staff forum or anyway to have your grievances heard? (We do but the problem is that they are actually not truly listening to what we were trying to tell them!)

When things changed hands last yr I rode out the changes then decided the instability of hrs were not right for me so l left on good terms. However the place I went to was new and plagued by difficulties over Xmas.I was offered another job too but my old employer asked me back and were very enthusiastic to have me back.Thongs were going v well until this huge change.Communication is poot and like I said I'm supposed to wait to be told things and not ask.I may offer them to keep my number for occasion am help while I look for something suitable.Luckily I have savings.Good luck on your new venture.I know what you mean about lovely work colleagues. However I'm sure you will love your new ones. :)

I work in education but not for the local authority. I won't say too much as I have to work there until the end of term. I am moving to a school my friend works at so I am hopeful it's a good move for me. X
