No way! Weetabix is my childhood. They'll make it all fake with rainbow colour additives won't they? 😒☹️

Just pray that they don't change the recipe to make it like the Australian Weetbix (otherwise known as cardboard)...

Yes the current Chinese owners are bastards for selling out.

The organic one disappeared from our local supermarket shelves back in Feb.

You can only get it in the superstore a bit further away.

Noooo!!! The only cereal I really like. Won't be the same again ... tempted to buy up loads of boxes tomorrow.

b and m bargains tend to get the older stock. Still in date obvs just a bit older for future ref. just in case they do change the recipe.

Oh come on, we all know Weet-Bix is terrible (but not so bad that I'll pay $$$ for Weetabix from the uk section at Coles)

I pay $9 a packet for weetabix and am totally ok with that

My family were shocked and outraged when they visited and I served them Weetbix. A child who had never been known to refuse any type of food rejected it!

After nearly a decade I'm nearly acclimatised to it, but I'll occasionally spend the big bucks to get some decent cereal Grin

I'll try the English version after my next shop and make a unbiased assessment. My son has been known to take dry Weet-Bix to school for recess. He is an odd child.

My son likes Weetbix with peanut butter on for a snack, but he is 16 and odd does rowing and will eat anything not tied down.

Weetabix is disgusting, 'they' are welcome to it.

YANBU, but if you live in the U.K. there are reasonable generic alternatives.

I have Kraft to thank for curing my interest in chocolate.

Own brand weetabix is just as good as branded stuff - tastes exactly the same!
Might be worth switching to that if the big brand will be changing?

Is there a difference between Aussie weetbix and NZ weetbix? I grew up on kiwi weetbix and don't like the UK weetabix at all, so if PP are bagging kiwi weetbix then UABU.

Goes away humming 'kiwi kids are weetbix kids...'

Report
WildKiwi · 18/04/2017 08:34

Pretty sure Aussie and NZ weetbix are the same.

I think it's all about what you grow up with. DS will probably love weetbix and hate the odd foods his mother brings into the house Smile

But it's 'Aussie Kids are Weet-Bix Kids'. Shock

The Kiwis stole our jingle!

So long as they bring proper Honey bunches of Oats cereal to UK I'll be happy. It's my favorite.
But it is sad that so many UK brands are being taken over.
Post aren't as bad as some of the sugary crap made. Apart from them making Cocoa pebbles and fruity pebbles rubbish, they do a lot of whole grain stuff.

U.K. Weetabix is like eating wallpaper paste! And I grew up with it. NZ Weetbix on the other hand is gorgeous Smile I don't know which parent company owns Sanatorium (the label it's marketed under) so don't know if the uk is going to be lucky enough to be switched to the NZ version Smile

Zaberwocky · 18/04/2017 17:39

I haven't eaten any since I read on here that someone knew someone who saw a ghost and it turns out the wheetabix were grown on a graveyard 😂

Can't get that out of my head!

Wierdly, Sanitarium is owned by the Seventh Day Adventists. So all their products are veggie, no booze.
