Blood soaked advert on Telegraph

OMD I surf the web for general paper headlines and I was so not prepared for the scene shown from an 18 rated horror film.

Is it me or does everyone consider that fine now? FFS. I feel like throwing up.

Hard to say without seeing it for myself.

well I don't suppose you can fish for a particular advert but it's a scene of people being drenched in blood.

just running in the background while I had a quick peek at the headlines.

I don't mind horror film ads.

I use an ad blocker online though, so it isn't an issue.

I wonder if it's the same one that came up as a sponsored post on ds's Instagram feed. It was horrible.

Yanbu what if you were a child? I think it's gross. Im super squeamish though so maybe I'm bu!

Alex, was it a film called Raw?

I don't know what the point is of having a rating on a film if a newspaper website is allowed to run an advert from it that contains a gross scene. I can't be the only person that doesn't want a huge surge of blood while I'm just idly reading the news?!

I've never need adblocker, I guess I'll have to look into installing it.

Would a child be looking at the telegraph?

Report
AlexanderHamilton · 07/04/2017 15:56

Yes it was. I reported it because under Instagram terms posts are supposed to be suitable for 13 plus age.

Alex - I'm just thinking they couldn't run that on Twitter could they? I've been a user for years and never saw anything like this....yikes. Maybe some rule has been removed. ugh. ugh. ugh. What is WRONG with people?!

I'll be interested too. It really was a horrible advert, very gory.

I saw this advert on Facebook the other day and reported it. I'm not squeamish and love Walking Dead, Tarantino etc but I was shocked to see that graphic content in my news feed unsolicited on a site which accepts members from 13 years old. I hope it gets removed

AlexanderHamilton · 08/04/2017 16:24

That's exactly how I felt about it on Instagram Neko

I hadn't thought of it from a kiddy perspective but if you were watching Walking Dead or a horror film you'd know to keep them out of the room

if you were just reading the news on your tablet, you wouldn't know because no one expects to see that!

OMD I've just googled and it's one of those films that made people pass out
no idea how that advert got cleared.

Oh is it some French film about cannibalism - they were discussing on Front Row this week, sounded vvvvv grim. There was a lady on from the British Film Council raving about it but saying it was definitely not for the faint-hearted, apparently the director is a bit miffed that people are being sick in the cinema! Shock

Yep, that's the one. I was wondering if it's worth alerting bbfc not much point giving it a rating with that advert doing the rounds.
