To think pesto has magical sleeping properties

Everytime my dd has pesto pasta she has the best nights sleep - 13 hrs straight last night (she didn't sleep for 2.5 yrs - now nearly 3).
She always eats a good meal at dinner time so it's not that she is more full up or anything like that but she always sleeps so well after pesto pasta - it's wierd

Quick, patent your pesto recipe and make a fortune selling it to sleep deprived parents! I bought the lavender bath stuff and Ewan the Dream sheep, I totally would have got "sleep pesto" when DS1 was being weaned...

Grin 'sleep pesto'. It does sound like something that could be marketed!

Pasta does, not sure about the pesto.

My boys (2 sons and a husband) always sleep well with a belly full of pasta or rice.

It's probably the belly full of pasta, a potato based meal will do the same for DS ... we call that a "carb coma" in this house Grin

Ha someone needs to tell my 19mo DD she should have been in a carb coma last night after the huge plateful of pasta she ate. 3 times she was awake! Granted it was a tomato sauce not pesto so I'll have to try it out for scientific purposes Grin

It's the magic of Italian carbs and Parmesan - Try risotto giallo alla Milanese recipes. You'll all sleep like babies......

Yep tomato pasta does not have the same effect at all - it is specifically pesto!
