Ordered a delivery for between 7.30-8.30am this morning and got a text to say it would be 15 minutes later (than the latest time)
I called customer service and said I would be on the school run by then but would be back by 9am, they said fine, they'd hold it til then
Got home at 9am and I had a 'sorry we missed you' card saying they'd been at 8.45am

Called customer service again and they said they could redeliver in the afternoon, I said I'd be at work til 1pm but anytime after would be great. Got home at 1pm to a 'sorry we missed you' card timed at 12.45pm

Called customer service again and they said they could deliver between 6-9pm but without my frozen stuff as it'd been out too long by now
It came at 8.30pm and at least half the stuff is missing.

Called customer service again and they said they had to speak to the driver, just called back again now and said they haven't been able to get hold of him so they're going to do 'an investigation' now, it'll take 48 hours and then they'll let me know the outcome

So aibu to be annoyed by the messing about? I'm coming off a run of 5 night shifts so that might be influencing my grumpiness but I've now got all weird odds and sods in that won't make a meal and no packed lunch stuff, will have to spend money that I haven't budgeted for buying extra stuff these next two days

Kick up a stink, you might get a free weeks shopping. That's really crappy service.

That's terrible. Can't you cancel the order and go elsewhere, or would it be too much hassle?

Ocado are very good. I've never had a delivery messed up, and substitutions are very rare.

Honestly, I think the first missed slot is your fault. Common sense would say don't book a delivery slot that runs up to 0830 if you need to leave very soon after that for school drop off. Reality is, it will sometimes be late.

But YANBU to be irked about the second miss and being messed around with half a shop. And I'm guessing doing night shifts reduces your options of delivery times. Get on to them and have a whinge and see what you can get for the inconvenience.

YANBU that's dreadful.

I've used Morrisons delivery for years and it's mostly been a great service.

Asda did something similar with me. I kicked off etc but got sweet f.a in terms of compensation, literally not even a pint of milk!

I'd be annoyed as well tbh. Kick up a proper fuss and you might get a load of free stuff for your inconvenience

The drivers from Ocado phone you if you're not there and ask where you are and wait if necessary

Morrisons use ocado for delivery.

I wouldn't have booked a time slot if I had to leave straight after the latest delivery time, especially at that time because it's rush hour.

However, after calling customer services to say you wouldn't be in and them telling you they'd change the time I'd be mad, even worse to then miss the rearranged time after telling them any time after 1.

I'd write a strongly worded email to their customer services. Don't kick off straight away, see what they say first of all and then kick off if they try to brush it under the carpet.

I'd also call customer services and tell them that their repeated cockups has left you without food to feed your children and not enough money to cover the shopping that wasn't delivered until you get the cost refunded. They might be able to sort out getting the missing shopping delivered toady or refund you quicker.

I think it's really risky to book a slot so close to when you have to leave. 15 minutes late isn't really a massive delay.

But, saying that, their subsequent service was shoddy and you were right to complain.

Its nothing to do with you being over tired and grumpy.
That's appalling service. Caused by them not listening.

So, it's now been 48 hours to investigate....and they've still not been able to get in touch with the driver so it'll be 'at least' another 24 hours

They've took the payment out of my account and I've no food. I'm going to have to buy more stuff again today for dinner.

I'm so angry

Honestly I think YABU to book a slot for delivery where you have no wiggle room if they're even a few minutes late, especially when it's a time when roads are going to be busy and all it takes is a couple of extra red lights or some roadworks to add 5_10 minutes to the delivery.

YANBU to be upset about the faffing around with redelivery and missing items.

When you spoke to customer services was it the general call centre or your specific store? I work in a different supermarket and the website will give customers the call centre number if they have problems with delivery but they are useless because they make promises to customers re: redelivery or sorting issues before they have spoken to the store and checked that it is even feasible. In future I would suggest calling customer services at the specific store your delivery comes from because they will be able to put you through to the home shopping department and you can speak directly to the person who is physically in the store and will be able to fix the issue personally or at the very least will have all the information about your delivery and the store delivery schedules/driver availability in front of them to make an arrangement to suit you and is actually possible.

Morrisons don't use Ocado for delivery because Waitrose were going to pull out of their deal with them if they did.

Report
AndKnowItsSeven · 26/03/2017 23:26

Yes they do.

Report
MsJolly · 28/03/2017 07:51

Actually they don't.

They use Ocado's technology and their big mega warehouse. In the latest deal they are to start using their own shops to deliver from so they can cover a bigger area. And Ocado are going to let them have access to some of their stuff like toys, homeware etc

Tweet them if you have twitter, or Facebook. Youl get a quick response. I've even heard of people searching on LinkedIn for CEO's, Heads of customer service etc for the company and then contacted them directly!! I do tend to go to extreme lengths when I complain tho

So do Morrisons if they are delivering outside the stated window.

When you say they took the money, is that for the delivered items only? Ramp it up if they've taken money for undelivered goods!

Strange that the driver didn't ring your mobile, mine does. On Sunday my Morrison's delivery got held up with a horrendous accident on the motorway. Driver and customer services both contacted us to say it would be two hours late, was that OK, then that it would be 3 hours late. I cancelled it with customer services and rearranged delivery for a specific one hour slot I could manage the next day and they gave me a £10 voucher. The only shame was the probable waste of fresh food, as they said they totally repick the order, but I hope someone got it. Your experience was bad though.
