If it helps, my daughter texted me to point out that that her sandwiches were the wrong shape the other day. She's 14 hmm. We saw the funny side grin.

My 8yo likes using the shovel to pick up our dogs poo from the back garden!! [confused

So let her clean the toilet... saves you a job, surely?

Just let her clean the toilet

DS2 is 6 and last week cried because he couldn't be as hairy as the dog.

He's also had a huge tantrum in the shopping centre a while back because I wouldn't let him buy a Vape thing from a market seller. Not because he was trying to quit smoking but because it looked like a Sonic Screwdriver.

Our 6 year old sobbed for 40 minutes because we brought a new car a couple of weeks ago hmm

Let her clean the toilet, she's old enough. Walk her through it first though

Yeah my 5 year old came in from school last week and told me I was mean and it wasn't fair that I done all the housework and didn't leave any for her to do hmm.

My DS has been told not to clean our toilet with his very expensive Kandoo wipes but it is suspiciously clean at the moment! He is 4.

I remember my toddler being utterly furious that I wouldn't let her wipe my bottom.

piglover Tue 21-Mar-17 17:17:10

Would she like to come and do mine?

user1484578224 Tue 21-Mar-17 17:18:28

oh god the car thing! ours went crazy when we changed it....never gave it a thought. it was like a grief thing!!!

TisMeTheLadFromTheBar Tue 21-Mar-17 17:20:55

Don't worry -it's only a phase, she'll grow out of it 😂grin

BertrandRussell Tue 21-Mar-17 17:22:53

Seriously- why not show her how to do it and then let her?

I took a guess from the title that she was about that age!
DS once had a snot flinging tantrum because I wouldn't let him use the bath cleaner at about the same age (Squirty bottle, cleaning fluid, hyper 5 year old. What could go wrong?).
Now at 16 he moans if he has to pick his clothes up off his floordrobe never mind clean the bath!

I have car grief now & im 28 😫 they are definitely nbu!

My 3 year old often gets the hump that he's not allowed to climb dangerous things. & I mean like up a crane or on top of a fire engine etc

For some reason my children love cleaning the toilet. (This being MN I should point out that we have a toilet duck thingie not a toilet brush). I bet they won't when they're teenagers and have to do some chores.

I'd be crying tears of joy if one of mine wanted to clean the toilet (or anything else for that matter).

Kitsandkids Tue 21-Mar-17 18:12:24

My two argue over who gets to wash up or Hoover the living room! They faff on so much though that I don't let them as much as I probably could!

ImNotAFlower Tue 21-Mar-17 18:16:40

We had full on sobbing over the bloody car accompanied by wailing "whhaaaat if no one buys heeeerrrrrrrr"
I have refused to let her name this one in hope she gets less attached to it 😂

I so want that problem. Is a 7 month old too young to clean the toilet? (Said in hopeful voice)
