I got a text claiming to be from DVLA saying they are trying to get hold of me together with a link...
A friend got the same text at about the same time...

Looks like a nasty scam and some people will get caught. Unfortunatley Ideleted it and don't have the number to report to the police.,

Ps I have posted this in chat as well to get max coverage... If someone has a lot of followers in twitter FB etc... please do the honours and spread the word.

I got it as well! I was 'owed' £48'84. If you go on to the DVLA website, there is a warning about this.

Is this the refund on tax? Honestly how can the average person fall for this? They have your address so they can send a cheque.

I got this and it was along the lines of putting all your bank details and the three digit code in and they will refund. Ridiculous.

Haven't seen it but I can see how people do I mean you can bank on phones, send payments, some do business accounting, you can spend money through texts like say adding extras on your Vodafone contract, so it may make sense to some that they can input their details and get a bank transfer quicker than a check, especially with lots of people wanting to go environmentally friendly with paperless

Just bumping again..

These things work because people can get caught off guard.. Spreading the word is the best way to stop the scum who do this sort of thing.
