AIBU?

To return the dog shit from my garden to its owner?

Fence panel is dodgy between our house and neighbours side, we have done our best to secure it our side but they need to sort it out their side.

Their three dogs frequent my garden numerous times during the day to shit all over it which I have to pick up as DCs play out there.

Next door are aware that this is happening to don't do anything about it and have taken to ignoreing the door when we go round to try to get it sorted.

AIBU to return all the dog poo back to them?!

Do it. I've scooped fucking cat shit into a bag & returned it to its owner.

I wouldn't do that. For all the obvious reasons.

Maybe take this approach - as listed on the Government website:

YADNBU. Why can't they shit in their own back yard.
They must know you have children, and everyone knows the dangers of dog shit.

Just block the gap from your side

We do block the gap, but the fucking things manage to get through it every time!!

They are just lazy and don't give a shit to be honest

Who's fence is it? If it is yours then unfortunately you would need to replace then take them to court for any damage the dogs cause to new fences. If it is there fence then ask citizens advice.

I would defo be asking them to pick up the poo, if they didn't then I would be out flicking it over there fence!

Are the dogs well looked after?

It's their fence, we've been trying to get them to sort it for ages but they aren't bothered as it doesn't affect them really.

I think we are just going to bite the bullet and sort it ourselves out of our pocket.

In the mean time I will ask them to come and pick it up, if they won't or don't answer to door, it will be getting flung over the fence!

As far as I can tell they are looked after well.

I would just be straight and say it's a problem for you. It's private property, the dogs shouldn't have access from a safety point of view if you have children who play out there. And you shouldn't have to clean up their mess. I wouldn't ask them to clean it up and give them permission to access your property. I would tell them they have two weeks to repair the fence during which time you'll be returning any poo to their doorstep. After that I would replace the fence and bill them. It's totally unacceptable, how dare they? Be firm.

Unfortunately you can't make them sort the fence out. You can put your own fence up but I appreciate that that will be expensive. I would scoop up the pooh and pop over their side, they won't care but at least it won't be in your bin.

Environmental health. I did this with our neighbours as their dog shed had an overflow in to our garden and the damn dog was huge and used to jump our fence! Entitled gobshites. I had words with them and enviro health. Dog and shed soon moved

Get a trowel and chuck it back over.

Yes, contact Environmental Health. Meanwhile, can't you hammer some plywood, for example, over the gap?

My neighbours used to let their dogs poo in our front garden on purpose. They have gravel in theirs which the dogs don't like.

One day I bagged it up and left it on their front step. They finally got the message after that. I only recommend this as a last resort.

You've tried to sort it and they are ignoring you.
Therefore I'd pick the poo up and put it over the fence into their garden. Don't fling it incase you get someone in the face with it. You are only returning their property after all ! Lol

I did this when a neighbour used to let their dog crap on our front lawn in a previous house, open front garden and not allowed to fence it. He used to just smirk at me if he saw me looking out the window.
I waited til he went in then placed the poo on his doorstep. Not in a bag (did use one to scoop of my lawn)
just free range. After doing it a few times he got the message.

I'd go with leaving it on the front doorstep rather than flinging it back over the fence. Presumably they have to pick up shit from their lawn anyway so not like it would be an inconvenience (they might not even notice) if you throw it back over. Have a feeling they would notice a turd mountain on their doorstep though!! Wink Grin

I'm liking the turd mountain on their doorstep Grin

They wouldn't notice it in the garden to be honest, it's disgusting!
