Decorating and DH

Aw fuming at DH. we are in the middle of decorating and refurnishing and recarpeting the entire upstairs. We had talked about this but when I was out last week DH ripped the carpets up and chucked all the furniture so forced our hand to get cracking. I have been at it for days, today is the one day neither of us have any commitments and only have one child to deal with amid the chaos so we can really make a start. It has to be done in the next few days as the carpets are being fitted

DH went on a works night out last night, now I know how these nights go, start at 5 in the evening, get in early hours and Sunday is a write off.

He promised me he would be in for 12 so we could get cracking this morning, but half three he rolls in, waking me up, stinking of booze and is comatose in bed.

He's not gonna be decorating today is he? I don't mind about the night out all but he made the decision to start the work and now he's just bowing out leaving it all to me. I was at it nine hours yesterday. I achy and knackered after being woken up at half three this morning.

AIBU to be very very cross.

I would be in the bedroom now doing essential drilling!

Have you not opened the curtains, windows, popped the radio on and pulled the covers off?

I wake him up and tell him to get moving. He knew he had stuff to do today and made the decision to stay out so he will have to suck it up. Give him till half 10 then start drilling.

Get him a brew and some toast taken up, put him in the shower and tell him he has 30 mins to get his self together.... then when you have been kind wife, if he dosent, you can go into kill mode.

And when you put the radio on loud to mask the sound of the drilling in the bedroom don't forget to sing along. Can't hold a tune? No matter, just share your abilities anyway Grin

I'd be raging. DP went out last night with a friend (he very rarely goes out) and was staying as it's £50 for a taxi home. I was fully expecting not to see him until lunchtime (we don't have plans) and he was home for 8.30!

He's got out of bed himself!! He's gone to get bacon sandwiches and then is going to crack on. I'm shocked!! Thought that would be him for the day. Must say I don't envy him after ten hours of drinking
