AIBU?

Dh has hijacked my new telly binge.

I've just started watching The Blacklist. It's awesome.

Dh came home from work and caught some of it. He then insisted on sitting in my TV room to watch the last three episodes of season one with me, with me filling him in on what he'd missed.

I was planning to get at least another three episodes in tomorrow, maybe six (some in the day and some in the evening).

But he wants to bloody watch it with me! He goes out two or three nights a week, and is at work all day which is usually when I get a good streak going.

It's going to take months to get through!

I could cry. Aibu?

Can you pretend you haven't seen the episodes before?

Yanbu. Leave the bastard!

Fuck it! I would tell him to stop going out and watch on those nights. It's only just. Otherwise, LTfB.

I could just carry on bingeing and then watch it with him at his snail pace. It seems a bit deceitful though.

I still haven't seen all of Breaking Bad because he did this to me and then lost interest, and it feels disloyal to crack on without him.

Git.

Just watch it!

Your binge is your binge! Watch it. He can binge it himself later. He shouldn't get to hold your binging back!

Binge watching should be done alone. I'd say just watch it yourself and then watch it again with him - you could always have on eye on your laptop and not really watch it.

FFS crack on without him
If it's good often it's nice to watch twice and notice things you might have missed, different nuances in script and direction etc

Why not binge on Breaking Bad and watch this with him?

DS2 and I are approaching this issue with Game of Thrones and I'm dreading it! He's seen seasons 1-3 and wants to watch the rest with me. He hates 'binge watching' of any kind. One episode a night, if you please! I've been watching minimum 3 episodes a day since I started it and am currently in the middle of season 3.

I vote for you bingeing on your own then watching them again with DH. Usually with binge watching you miss stuff anyway. But I would tell your DH that you if he wants to watch it with you he's going to have to forego his nights out though. It's one thing to wait if someone is working, it's another thing if they want you to wait because they're having a night out!

Just watch them when you want to. He can watch them when he wants to! No need to do it together.

I just came to say that Blacklist is so good...great choice of box set and I'm envious that you get to discover it all anew!

Don't let your DH hijack it and then lose interest, just watch it!

Blacklist is great! James Spader is a terrific actor. You should also check out "Persons of Interest."

I have the same issue in my house; I just watch on ahead and then re-watch with family. I am usually folding clothes or some other chore when I watch by myself, so I do get some benefit from the second viewing.

This is exactly why I haven't told my DH I'm watching Once Upon A Time. I'm on maternity leave and it's awesome. Not sharing. So there. Wink

Is blacklist on Netflix? Is it good?

Report
OneWithTheForce · 31/01/2017 01:38

What's it about?

Blacklist is on American Netflix, would yours have similar offerings, do you think?

It is basically about a brilliant, well-connected criminal who works with US intelligence officers to track down other criminals. There is also much more to it. If you watch an episode or two you will get really drawn in.

People do have problems, don't they? Well, you have to watch it twice, as someone suggested. It's not like he's forbidding you to watch it at all (could happen in some families), or doesn't want to spend time with you (could happen in other families). You can't give away the plot, of course. "The Blacklists", you say? Where is it? How do I get my hands on it?

Just crack on without him and then rewatch the episodes when he's there.

Oh, this would annoy me so much - what a killjoy!

Thankfully, DP and I have completely different tastes when it comes to TV series.

DH binges on GoT before me and I caught one episode and decided to watch it for my self.

It's ok to binge on your own just don't do spoilers.
