AIBU?

about my horrific double chin

I've noticed that the aging process seems to have speeded up scarily since I turned 40 three years ago.

Every time I look in the mirror I feel like I've aged another six months in a day, my jawline is sagging at an alarming rate and I seem to develop new lines on an almost daily basis.Today I noticed to my horror I have quite a double chin.

I am about a stone overweight, AIBU to think that losing this will help my double chin or will it just make me look older?

My cousin is very slim and has an awful double chin - her wedding photos were shocking a day she was in her late twenties. I feel terrible saying that but they were.
Losing weight wouldn't make it worse I imagine.
Every time I look in the mirror there's something else changed, it's horrible ageing.Flowers

I feel your pain...

I use the following strategy:

  • put on a bit of eye make up/lip stick
  • wear scarves
  • be smiley and friendly to distract from horrors
  • after that: avoid mirrors for the rest of the day

It is Crossfire - I know it's better than the alternative, but still hard to get to grips with sometimes.

I think that you can do special exercises to get rid of a double chin, on top of general weight loss. I have no idea if it works or not, but it might be worth a go.

Try gentle weight loss with a focus on yoga/pilates and see if it improves. Also making faces and stretching your back and neck out helps
