AIBU?

DH's phone calls

My DH travels a lot for work. More often than not, when he calls me he starts by saying something like "I've just got a couple of minutes...". This makes me feel either like I am just being ticked off a 'To do' list and/or that I am very boring and talk too much (which I honestly don't think is true). AIBU?

Why not ask him, simple?

He's explaining that he hasn't got a lot of time presumably so that he doesn't forget something important.

Have you told him how you feel?

My DH does too. Ask yourself: "am I quite waffly on the phone?" If not (I'm not, but DH still says this) i actually think he's saying "I'm a rushed but you're important to me so I've squashed in time to call you." :)

Maybe he has only got a couple of minutes. I sometimes warn people I won't be staying on for long, rather than have to break off rudely with no preamble, if time is tight.

I suppose with friends I might say "don't worry, it's only a quick call," to make it sound as though I didn't want to take up their time. I don't think dh would get such kid-glove treatment though! Blush

That would annoy me too. Thing is once you zone in on something like that then it will only get more annoying each time he says it.

Ask him about it otherwise it will drive you loopy. Just mention it in a casual way rather than a confrontation.
