AIBU?

To think it was a good idea that Hillary used a private server as it hasn't been hacked unlike many of the government ones

This makes her more electable imo as she showed good judgement from a security stand point.

I'm increasingly worried that trump will get in, I have family in new york (very upstate) and they are all voting trump.

The fab MO I'm hoping will carry on as she is and swing it.

LOL!Grin
Why have the FBI decided to investigate NOW? Are they chuffing mental? Or do they already know Trump will get in?? Time to go off grid I think Confused

Can you staget some crisis that prevent your family getting to the polling station?

The timing of this seems pretty suspicious, and it could well fuck it up for her. Is that in the FBI's interest though?

Yes because then they will need to replace her with another candidate won't they? And then there will be a real alternative to Trump. People don't hate Bernie as much as they hate Hillary.

There was a hint on the radio that the Republican party had leaned on the Director to re-open it at this rather sensitive time. No idea if that's true, of course.

They're both dodgy as hell.... wouldn't like to choose between the two.

it is very suspicious timing. I would LOVE BS to get in, but isn;t that way too late?

yanbu!!
I don't blame FBI, though, they didn't have good choice on this.
Lot of snow in upstate NY, recently (hopeful).

Hillary has questions to answer. She has to be tackled just like any other candidate.. Just because her opposition is not popular she must be investigated. There has been questions about this all along. The media has dodged asking her as it's so afraid of Trump gaining from it but they should have treated her like any other candidate. I don't know what they were thinking of selecting her in the first place.

You think a 'private' server is more secure?

Sometimes I can see why people think there should be some sort of test before people are allowed to vote! Not that I agree, as even the ill-informed should get their say, and it's never of the things that makes elections unpredictable.

The FBI is protecting itself from the rather worse scenario of total condemnation from all sides if they did not mention it before the election, and there was something over which charges should be brought. Mpeople need to know what they are voting for.

And I suppose it's just as likely that the Democrats 'leaned' on FBI to close it down so it wasn't as apelection issue as it is (suggested above) that the Republicans leaned back and made sure it was properly dealt with on normal timelines.

I'm confused about how much IT knowledge she has. I don't believe she did it herself, so who did it for her and advised her on it? And wtf were they thinking?

If you company policy is one thing you don't do something else because you think you know better. If you have concerns voice them to the appropriate people. That way it can't be used against you.

So... are you aware that using a private server is standard practice for secretaries of state? For pretty much this reason. I think the last three have done it. She didn't come up with a bright idea, and she isn't being "untrustworthy" to have done it, it's the done thing.

The Secret Service set the server up 4 Bill Clinton (sigh) It was never hacked unlike the State dept servers.

(SS ran it). It wasn't Yahoo.

Questions about the Clinton foundation receiving so much money from countries with unspeakable abuse of women, questions about how she can speak out as a president against the situation in the middle east when so much money has changed hands. Also of course questions about all the emails. It's a pity so close to election day they don't have a stronger candidate.

may be crappy but not illegal. Or unique.

questions about how she can speak out as a president against the situation in the middle east when so much money has changed hands.

money changed hands between exactly who?
did you mean how Trump has loads of business interests in M-East? Confused

so.... if I go on holiday to dubai (benefits their economy) , I can't have an opinion about the status of women in Middle East?

Also of course questions about all the emails
Which Qs about the emails, what is the mystery?

I love the idea that some people seem to think Hillary was setting up her own little server in her lounge, installing Windows and Norton and hoping for the best Grin

America seems to be terrified of electing a woman. If any of this applied to Trump it would barely feature in the news. Wasn't a private server Colin Powell's idea originally?
