DS has just had his 12th birthday and got some money which he wants to spend largely on clothes. Please can I have suggestions on which shops might have clothes he likes and I won't veto.

I normally go to Gap.... But he is developing a mind of his own. Thinking of Westfield tomorrow. Please help!

H&m would be a good bet. My ds

Oops ds grabbed my phone! H&m do fashionable clothes at reasonable prices. Other than that somewhere like hype? That's a popular tween label around here.

JD sports is where my 12 year old goes. He lives in faintly ridiculous looking skinny fit, drop crotch jogging bottoms and retro Adidas tops and trainers though.

My almost 13yr old loves jack wills, converse, superdry and river island.

My 13 year old lives in Converse.

H&M? DS has liked things I've bought from Zara and Next.

12 yo Dss likes h&m, Primark for jeans cos he is a skinny runt and they do adjustable waists, next

Haven't ventured into River Island etc as my bank balance couldn't take it but I know his mum buys him stuff there

Hollister too, cheaper than Jack Wills generally. If you can see when you are in the shop......

TK Maxx? Designer labels at cheaper prices

ds lives in Canterbury stadium bottoms - he hates jeans and these are a compromise as they are quite smart looking ( I buy them in the sales). Then it's usually a football top or t-shirts

what is it with hollister and their stupidly dark shops!

Am slightly envious of people who's 12 year olds have an opinion about what they wear. Mine is oblivious.

JD Sport without a doubt all 12 year old are in Hype, Nike etc

Topman too - do really small sizes to suit "tweens" - if indeed he's not already towering above you .....

DS2 is nearly 17 but probs the size of a 12 year old, extremely skinny too. He wears a lot of Topman stuff - xs for tshirts and hoodies and waist 28 super spray on jeans. Jack Wills is also good for xs sizes.

He's been interested for about 5 minutes! I am coming to terms with it....

About 5 foot tall..... His dad is 6 foot so am expecting a growth spurt imminently.

Mine is five foot nine now, and skinny. It's so difficult to find anything to fit him properly especially when he just stands in changing rooms like a disinterested sack!

I have a 12 year old. He's small so wears age 11 but I got him some lovely clothes recently in Next. It's not somewhere I would usually go but I was impressed with the selection

Ds is now 13, but likes H&M, primark, Superdry, the odd stuff from Next online, and a good mooch in charity shops.

If you are at Westfields in West London Topman worth a look and Pull and Bear - both stock quite small sizes. American Eagle had a great sale rack last week with lots of small sizes.

My teen boys are into Jack Wills (That only happens if they have birthday money), Superdry, occasionally H&M, Topman and on the very odd occasion they have agreed to jeans from Primark. Good Luck OP :)
