Picnic in the rain - ideas needed

We are going to a event tonight, and need to take a picnic. Weather forecast is most definitely rain. Any ideas, firstly for keeping four children dry, and warming picnic food. No BBQ's are allowed.....

Pop up tent/fishing shelter?

Can you take a gazebo to sit under? Other than that rugs, waterproofs, brollies and food flasks to keep food like stews etc. warm. Visit a camping shop for ideas.

Are you allowed to put up one of those half tent things for shelter?
Waterproof trousers for the kids.
I'd be tempted to buy food there if that's an option.

We're off to a similar thing tonight. Gazebos aren't allowed at ours Sad. I think I am going to take a pizza for the kids but am tempted to get a take away delivered to the main gate for us!

Mini pasties of some sort. Bake to come. Out of oven just before you leave, wrap in greaseproof and then several layers of tea towel to keep warm.

Jacket potatoes wrapped in foil and tea towels. You can get butter or garlic butter in little individual serving snap packs to put on them. Beans in a flask too?

If you've got those picnic blankets with the waterproof backing you can huddle together on chairs with it upside down over your knees.
