AIBU?

To wish this damned pigeon would leave home!

I have a pigeons' nest in the ornamental vine which grows on a trellis attached to the outside of my house. I have a garden table underneath with chairs. I love it, it is my outside room and I sit here all summer.

However, I now have this bloody interloper! It scrats around above my head, is covering the patio in guano (thankfully, so far, not me!) and drives the dog bonkers! (He already has an ASBO for barking at cats and squirrels taunting him on the fence).

This child pigeon looks quite large and capable to me! He flaps around up there being a wimp! I have tried talking to him - he's not listening.

Suggestions?

No suggestions, I'm afraid, but just wanted to say how nice it is of you to leave him there in peace till he's ready to go Flowers

Food? I put food out for the smaller birds but I have quite a lot of pigeons that come to hoover up what the smaller ones drop. I have the same ones that visit daily. They are very very greedy. I think he would find it hard to resist some food. Good luck!

Think yourself lucky - we've got two baby seagulls with loud and overprotective parents, aunts, uncles and assorted cousins! My poor cat cowers under the car over the street because they dive bomb him! They try dive bombing me but I refuse to be cowed Grin. The babies remind me of the worst moments of parenthood - they make a noise that sound exactly like "muuuuum" "muuuuum" "muuuuum" "muuuuum" .... Constantly asking for something

I've named the parents Ricky and Bianca Grin they come back every year. They had three chicks this year that fledged but only two around now Sad. At least I didn't have to rescue any of them this year - some years they slide off the roof and I have to save them from the cats!
