Do they have the same father? Or do your second child/subsequent children have different fathers?

Genuinely interested to hear peoples experiences with this. I wonder just how genetic ASD is.

Both of my kids are on the spectrum.

Unsurprisingly, they both have the same father as they're twins. Grin

I know a lot of twins on the spectrum.

Both my kids have ASD, and the same dad though. Why do you ask? I think it's likely from me Grin

I have 2 good friends. Each has 2 DC with 2 different dads and the DC have all Asd.

When DS was diagnosed they wrote in the report that any other children I have or any that my son or daughter have will be at higher risk of ASD so yes it is genetic. DH is also on the spectrum (not diagnosed).

I have 3 children, 1 is on the spectrum and the other 2 aren't, DH dad has Aspergers (only diagnosed after we read up on it when dealing with DS and realised FIL was a textbook case!)

My ds has autism, my dh is undiagnosed but definitely on the spectrum as are his siblings. Three of his nephews have ASD & ADHD and 5 other members of my dh's extended family have been diagnosed. There are also a lot of undiagnosed members with very clear ASD traits.

Ds has a deletion of genes on his 16th chromosome which the geneticists beleive is the underlying cause of his asd and learning disabilities it hasnt been inherited from either me or his dad its de novo in his case .
