Talking about companies who hire actors to role play to help their staff practice, gain insight etc. I'm in Birmingham and fancy doing this but am clueless about how to get into it.

Are you a trained actor with experience? I am and have done this work in London...as have many of my friends who I trained with.

It's not easy to get into because obviously, actors are often unemployed so the companies which organise these training sessions have the pick of some of the best actors out there.

You can be on a The National one week and then sitting in an office in Luton the next pretending to be a difficult patient.

Basically, what I'm saying is that this work is hard to come by even for well trained actors.

I know quite a few people who do this. They are all drama school trained actors signed to agencies.

Try the medical school? They often need people for simulation for training and exams.

Look on regular job sites. I've seen recruitment agencies (In N.I.) hire for police service & NHS.

Actors were used during role play assessments on a course I recently attended, and they were professional actors. Some had had bit parts in soaps and adverts etc.
Mine was crap though.
