The only thing scarier than a quiet child.....

....is a quiet dog. A collie, to be exact (as the lab and retriever are not intelligent or active enough to do this).

I took the day off work today to sort out the house and garden for some strange reason. And I spent the morning putting some plants in various bits of the garden. No idea what they were, but apparently they will eventually flower and the flowers are a particularly nice shade of pink.

Anyway, I take a break at lunchtime and go into the house basking in virtuousness and treat myself to an extra half hr of MN with the boys at my feet. At some point I remember vaguely wondering where the collie was....but was too busy laughing at MarmaldeTawtkins and the lemon drizzle cake to actually go and look for her.

After a while I realise that the collie had dug up each and everyone of the pretty pink to be plants that I had just put in the garden.

So, MN, am I BU to go NC with my dog?

Yanbu but let's be honest, you'll try and have a stern word with her and she'll probably tip her head to the side and you'll forget what you are doing and suddenly find yourself giving her belly rubs and throwing all the treats at her because she is just so cute anyway.
They are masters of control and there is nothing you can do about it.

Isn't a dog basically just a toddler that will never grow up and move out of home?

Oh yes. I think Pseudo's comment sums it up well. I'm the mum to a working Cocker spaniel, aka a chimpanzee that likes bonios.

Ollie mine does that too...often in the middle of the night when I'm alone in the house.....

She's currently in the garden with the kids. Luckily the labs are out there with them so they'll come and report any bad behaviour Grin

We planted 10x wisteria in our garden and our golden ate them all. We're still NC.

I've just spent a merry hour planting some hostas & dahlias....
Guess what? Labby McGitface has dug 1 up whilst I was planting another Angry. She then nicked my sodding trowel.
Little bugger

Mommy to an eleven month old German Shepherd who thinks its her job to empty the recycling bags and scatter newspapers, cardboard boxes and plastic bottles over the garden. She also like to run off with my bras when in the laundry basket. She also does the head tilt. Bloody love her though!

I knew this was going to be about a dog!

I'm very impressed with your labs. My (recently rescued) boy climbed a tree to jump over the garden wall today. Yep, I have a labrador that climbs trees. I've no idea what to do with that...

LetThere I'm so impressed. I have the two laziest labs (OK ones a retriever) in the world. And a psychotic collie.

Currently, all three are flopped on the floor with the kids - they do look super cute and are so exhausted, though God knows why as DH and I spent the day in the garden replanting the pretty pink flowers what was left of them.

Dogs. Kids. Bliss.

I do love her dearly. She brings me a lot of peace. She's a blessing for my girls - all interact with her differently and she them.
I stand by my statement that she's a git though Grin. In her favour she is only just 12 months though - I realise labs take forever to "grow up" (if they do)
