2 friends one called a and one called b all 3 of us decided to by a membership as was ten pound more than 3 of the events we wanted to go to and meant we got to go to every event of the year friend a and me have had one before so skipped the waiting list friend b said she couldn't get on it yet but a space might become available i said not to worry a is getting hers Friday so I won't be going alone and you can buy some tickets for the event if they haven't sold out a kept putting of buying it due to money but insisted I buy mine as she was buying hers fast forward 3 months I asked if she had brought hers but she said she now won't be getting it at all due to money so now I've forked out for a membership and no ones going and I only found out through asking her had I known I would of aranged other friends to go with or sold my membership

Sorry for the ramble I'm dyslexic and really struggled to write that

PPie10 Tue 12-Apr-16 13:01:56

Sorry I tried to read this but you need to use sentences with full stops.

That isn't fair at all.
I can understand why you are upset.
Yank.

CrossfireHurricane Tue 12-Apr-16 13:07:45

That should be yanbu!

MaidOfStars Tue 12-Apr-16 13:08:05

Unfortunate crosspost.

OP, might they still pay to go the events individually?

Smartieskid Tue 12-Apr-16 13:10:53

My best friend is able to pay but at a cost to her as will work out more than the membership she already made me book a week of work for a holiday that we never went on x

MooseAndSquirrel Tue 12-Apr-16 13:13:25

pie op says she's dyslexic, and struggled - was there any need for that to be the first rely she received!

As I could fully understand your post op, YANBU. That would piss me off hugely! Any chance there's time to rope another friend into coming?
Or as you'll be round like minded people, why not go solo - you may have a blast, or worst case at least enjoy whatever it is

MaidOfStars Tue 12-Apr-16 13:13:54

They sound a bit flakey. Do you have other friends you could get involved?

MaidOfStars Tue 12-Apr-16 13:14:51

Moose Judging by the timings, pie posted before the OP's second post.

SmilingButClueless Tue 12-Apr-16 13:15:00

Are the memberships transferrable? If so, could friend A buy a membership for friend B so friend B doesn't have to wait for a space to come up?

PPie10 Tue 12-Apr-16 13:19:11

Moose I posted at the same time as the op update. Sorry op if I offended you.

YANBU. I've had similar happen to me, I told 4 friends about a concert to see a band we all like. They all said yes, they'd all like to go. So I (stupidly) bought all 5 tickets on my bank card. Only one friend came with me. I had to sell the other three tickets to a touter and was out of pocket by quite a considerable amount. I learned my lesson and now will only buy when I received the money first. YANBU.

Ppie10 YABU. I could understand the op perfectly. It's not difficult. grin

Smartieskid Tue 12-Apr-16 13:21:03

No offence taken I can never read what I say anyway blush my other friends coming to now but it's the principle of it that she new a while ago and didn't think to tell me before so I had time to make plans
