AIBU?

AIBU to get annoyed at my DSIS's slagging off my appearance etc.

I do honestly love the both of them, but I'm getting a little tired of the constant slagging of what I'm wearing. I do dress somewhat unusual, always have done. It's how I am and I comfortable being like this. Even though I've toned it down a bit now mainly due to having to wear suitable clothes to breastfeed in! I still get the "what the hell are you wearing?!" etc.
It doesn't usually bother me that much, maybe just feeling extra hormonal today!
I should just suck it up and take it really.
AIBU to consider speaking to them or my DH about it & asking for it to stop?
Also get the "you're still bfeeding?!" face! My baby is only 5 months.

Yanbu but you're going to have to tell them straight but tactfully. I wouldn't involve dh. I was offended by comments by my mil once. I told dh, he told mil...she went nuts for not telling her direct. Didn't even care i was offended by her original comment.
Just say, 'thats enough. My body, my child. Get over it'... then move on the subject to a lighter conversation!

Nope, shouldn't suck it up and take it.

Nope, shouldn't deal with it tactfully.

I find the death stare extremely satisfying and effective - no comment, no smile, just look at the offender right in the eye for an uncomfortable length of time with no reaction whatsoever.

Don't smile, don't make a joke of it, don't excuse or defend yourself.

"It's how I am, and I'm comfortable being like this". Good for you. Don't you dare think about changing. If they can't accept you. That's their look out, and. BTW. You don't need to tactful in telling them to shut their beaks. I don't see them being tactful to you when they're doleing out insults.

"I'm planning on getting a corset" ?

"Clothes do not maketh the man" ?

"you should see what I look like NAKED" ?

(singing) "I am what I am...."

Celebrate you! From your post, I'd rather know you than your sisters!

YANBU pull her up on it she's an adult(I presume)so should know better and pull her up about the breast feeding comments.I fed all 5 of my DC my 3rd child I breastfed till she was 2.Your doing what's right for your baby and you.

I'd love to know what your wearing OP,I've always been proud of the fact that I look different to what people expect me to look like and my 5DC and my DH love that fact about me to.

Families can fall into the habit of slagging off each other on particular issues and then forget to stop. Agree with the death stare saying nothing. You sound very creative and l wouldn't apologise for that. They've fallen into this pattern so make take a few good stares to stop it. As for the breastfeeding they are pathetic and showing their own ignorance. I wouldn't even engage. By the way do they slag each other or are you the butt of it all? Wouldn't like that.

I'd out her on the spot next time and ask her why she feels the need to comment on the way you dress. Then I'd say that you'd appreciate it if she would stop passing comment and judgement and if your appearance bothers her and she doesn't want to be seen in public with you she needs to ask herself why?
