Marks and Spencers bank - utter shit

I have been on hold for nearly 20 minutes. No indication given of where I am in the queue, back to the song I came in on. AIBU to think this is totally unacceptable as a way to treat customers. It bloody well never happened with First Direct. Happens every time I ring, but this has got to be the worst.

You should try calling HMRC!
Least you had a few different songs.

YANBU it would be nice if there was an indication of queue position.

You don't even need to talk to them to switch banks now. Just fill in the switching service forms on the First Direct website, and your standing orders and direct debit will be transferred. Also, any payments made into your closed M&S account will be automatically forwarded for sorting like 13 months.

That is, assuming M&S are part of the new switching service!

Both M&S Bank and First Direct are owned by HSBC... So I would expect the same level of service from all 3.

You should try calling my doctors surgery. Not only do they refuse to pick up, they have some message how they will try to answer as soon as possible to us EVERY 7 seconds. I've counted the time interval and it drives me demented. If you need to be reminded that often, you probably don't remember why you are calling them in the first place.
