It would appear from the bbc news page that ian duncan smith is quitting. I for one am very glad so that his sneering face isnt seen to revel in people's misfortunes

He resigned because of his principles. if Corbyn had done it everyone would be arse kissing.

Principles my arse. The man is ambition personified. He has a motive. He does not have principles.

Wonder if he'll get a sanction.

I wonder if the deaths attributed to sanctions is due to be made public?
He has left before something comes out.

Something's coming out other than the fuck up that is UC, which has cost ten of millions of our money?

Great news. Just in time for the weekend, too.

After £30bn of cuts to benefits under his watch I hardly think he's suddenly gained a conscience. Smells like a leadership bid or an inordinate fuckup with UC. Either way his resignation letter is bullshit.

I liked his resignation letter, especially the thinly veiled swipe at Osborne. ''HE MADE ME DO IT!!!''.

Just wish that he had taken Osborne with him!

I'm delighted that he's kicked Osborne in the balls and made it clear he's had enough of being sacrificed to his ambitions. If only Nicky Morgans could find the courage to do the same.

I can't see it as a leadership bid. It could be a bid for the Chancellorship in a Johnson government.

He's probably jealous of how much airtime Boris is getting on Brexit and wants to join in the campaign. He doesn't give a shit about the disabled. He just needed an excuse.

YANBU!

"He doesn't give a shit about the disabled. He just needed an excuse."

This.

A leadership bid? Again? Have you forgotten that he's already done that and he was shit at it?

Looks like there was a push. Just for tonight I shall celebrate his political demise.

"Pls let them not put gove into that job"

Or Priti Patel.
