That actually could be quite absorbing. My friend did a dissertation on marketing and got me to proof read it for her, years ago so I'm afraid I've forgotten anything that might be useful, but I did find it interesting at the time. The thing is that you aren't because you've got to write an essay on it. If there were a thread discussing marketing on here you'd be fascinated.

It's displacement activity really. If MN were down you'd be suddenly afflicted with hunger, or really need to listen to the news, or realise the toilets were overdue for a good scrubbing again. But you know that.
