NC
My dc go to a small semi rural school and it has one small road parents are allowed to park on. I've noticed one car (only because my dc -5- asked what a word was, the word was bitch) because of the stickers on the back. (I have mentioned the size of the school as it means all cars are parked up together and you normally see everyone each morning etc).

They stickers are large and pretty graphic, one about blow jobs and the others about being a bitch in 0-5 seconds.

I was thinking of asking the school if they could have the word- I get the free speech thing I just think it's a bit off displaying this around an infant school.

One of the stickers has a pixie/fairy type decal on it so some children notice it straight away. AIBU or should I just keep distracting and asking if the DCs have noticed the snowdrops grin

Personally, I'd just leave it. Do you really want to get into a fight with someone that trashy? It could come out that you're the one who complained.

Please post pics of the car though!

Sorry YWBU to mention it. Kids are going to be exposed to this sort of thing, you can't expect the whole world not to swear or talk about sex within earshot/eyeshot of small children.

I don't think it's very controversal to say that anyone who was the slightest bit normal would not be putting stickers about blow jobs on their car. This is not a normal, sensible person who'll understand that it's innapropraite to discuss your sex life via the medium of car decoration - therefore there's nothing to gain from this, they won't remove them as they clearly don't see the issue, and will just get an arse on.

DinosaursRoar Wed 16-Mar-16 14:13:45

oh and it's a good lesson for your DCs, not every adult they will meet are sensible and can be trusted to make good decisions.

Yes dh said they'd probably hear worse when we walk about in town. I see your point

NewLife4Me Wed 16-Mar-16 14:14:26

FFs tell them it's a female dog and mind your own business.
What are you going to do, supervise their eyes all the time?
I do sympathise as I wondered about several things like this when ours were little, it's part of being in this society and nothing you can do about it.
So yes, I'm afraid YWBU to say something.

LOL at "take photos" that really made me laugh.

VagueIdeas Wed 16-Mar-16 14:18:10

They're tacky and a bit grim but living near a school doesn't mean people can't put stupid stickers on their cars. And I live next to a school myself smile

Went to Belgo in London for Mothers' Day. Our children (primary school age) asked about the young woman sitting at the next table with someone who appeared to be her own mother. The young lady was wearing a white crop top with this phrase written on it:

No
Fucks
Given

To (not) quote Voltaire, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

I'd stay out of it.

JanetOfTheApes Wed 16-Mar-16 14:21:06

Your title makes no sense at all.

But no, I wouldn't say anything. BEcause anyone who puts those stickers on is a total asshole anyway and will not care what you think about them, so its a waste of time.

GeorgesBriefs Wed 16-Mar-16 14:21:24

the car belongs to a parent. It's not a random!

StepAwayFromTheThesaurus Wed 16-Mar-16 14:21:25

Does your car have stickers about blow jobs and being a bitch on it, NewLife? It's just you seem very annoyed that someone would object to that.

I don't think this is a berate the OP for pearl clutching situation. Putting stickers about blow jobs on your car is pretty antisocial really. But others are right, they're also a pretty good indication that the owner is unlikely to be open to reasonable discussion.

GeorgesBriefs Wed 16-Mar-16 14:26:25

Janetoftheapes- really?

AIBU to want to ask a person who does the school run I think her car decals are inappropriate

Not the best grammar I grant you, but makes no sense? blush

GeorgesBriefs Wed 16-Mar-16 14:28:41

Stepaway- it's fine.
I'd not post anything on a public forum if I wasn't prepared for posts calling me all sorts- I have quite a rhino hide.

I don't want to tell my five year old what a blow job is actually- but there you go.

ItsJustPaint Wed 16-Mar-16 14:28:42

What's a car decal ?

MrsLindor Wed 16-Mar-16 14:31:41

It doesn't make sense, did you mean "AIBU to TELL a person who does the school run THAT I think her car decals are inappropriate".

VitaSackvileVest Wed 16-Mar-16 14:32:37

"I'm getting it with Castol GTX" used to be a popular car sticker in the 70's.

One such car was parked by a commuter on my road every day, and one day someone my mum as she was annoyed that they parked right up to the driveway glued a picture of a nude woman next to the sticker.

They parked badly somewhere else from then onwards grin

OP, why don't you attach some "artwork" near the stickers (with bluetak so as not to damage the paintwork)

TeenAndTween Wed 16-Mar-16 14:33:02

a decal is a sticker. (no idea why)

GeorgesBriefs Wed 16-Mar-16 14:33:37

ah yes I have re read and I think when i C&P my text it must have lopped some off!

Thank you. Still getting used to my phone and it's autocorrect and missing pasted text. grin

teablanket Wed 16-Mar-16 14:33:48

I probably wouldn't want to antagonise a self-proclaimed bitch. grin

(The title is easy enough to get the gist of, but is worded a bit confusingly. Maybe "tell" would be better than "ask"?)

GeorgesBriefs Wed 16-Mar-16 14:34:15

Vita- your mum is nuts. Very funny.

GeorgesBriefs Wed 16-Mar-16 14:35:03

Yes Tea- I had "tell' the school and 'ask' the person in the header- no idea how some of it got lopped off

Not quite Dawn- the quiet ones are the ones you have to watch out for!
