Cleaner and tidying

I have chronic pain and fatigue problems and work full time. In order to have a social life and work the first thing that goes when I'm tired is the housework. I live alone, no kids (is there a non-mumsnet.com?!) - aibu to get a cleaner and do cleaners who tidy too exist or am I on my own for that?!

My cleaner tidies. She kind of has to or she wouldn't be able to clean. The downside, of course, is that I then spend all week guessing where she might have put stuff.

This wasn't ever something we discussed (and before we had kids it wasn't necessary) so it just kind of happened.

I think as long as you are clear about what you want done and they have enough time then it shouldn't be a problem.. Just make sure it is all clear from the start!

I'm a cleaner & am more than happy to tidy. Just make it clear when you employ someone that you would like them to tidy up as well as clean. Sounds obvious but not all cleaners will tidy, wash up etc.
Thank them after every clean (if you're in) if not leave a note occasionally saying thankyou. It's much appreciated!

We have a cleaner and she tidies, without ever being asked. She's marvellous and if I had to choose between DH and her, I don't think I could.
