AIBU?

mumsnet saved me £22,000!

Well, not just me, it's shared across 12 flats but still WOW.

I started this thread in despair last week when the insurance quote after a flood came in at £51,000. Three lots of people had searched the insurance market and no other insurer would even quote.

Then a wonderful mumsnetter pm'd me and said they would try. They succeeded where every other broker failed.

The premium is now a 'mere' £29,000 which is still crazy but £22k less than it was.

Thank you mumsnet and mumsnetter extraordinaire ( who I won't out in case they don't want to advertise).

Sorry, AIBU to feel a bit smug that I succeeded (with the help of mumsnet) where everyone else said it was impossible to get cheaper cover?

Where's the 'LIKE' button when you need it!

Excellent news OP and what an amazing thing for the other MN'er to have done.

I need a like button for such a great post. Needed cheering up and this will help even though Im not involved in any way (apart from being an inveterate Mumsnetter).

Wahoo, I posted on your thread (but wasn't the pm'er. )

Are your excesses ok?

next time I need to insure 12 flats, I know where to ask....

I'd actually ask if they mind OP as this is great advertising for them and it sounds like they deserve it. I'm glad it's been resolved as I remember your thread and thought the whole situation is beyond ridiculous.

I tend to look on here for lots of advice just goes to show how impressive a bunch you all are. Id PM the mumsnetter and ask if you can name them.

I've pm'd and pointed them at the thread and asked if I can give credit where it's due. I know they were nervous about breaking guidelines.

Hopefully with such good news they'll be happy to do their lap of honour.
