AIBU?

To think I deserve an apology?

Was telling my sister about a close friends successes and described him jokingly as an "overachiever".

She asked why I'd used that term - and if I was bitter!

How fucking rude is that?!?

The implication of course being that I have no achievements to be proud of and no successes of my own. Silly bitch Hmm

You were rude and belittling about a supposed friend, I think she was right to call you on it. Your aggression is from a guilty conscience.

YABU. That is not the implication at all!

No. You don't "deserve" an apology for that. No one poured paint over you or set fire to anything. Your sister said something that upset you. That's kind of what sisters are for and the offense was only in your reaction to the words. Someone confident that they had achieved worthwhile stuff would have laughed and poured another glass of wine, not come running to mumnset to whine.

Are you 11? If so, YANBU, but your language leaves a lot to be desired young lady! Go and pull the arms off your sister's Barbie dolls and you'll feel better.

If you are >11 you are being a bit of a hissy-fitting bellend.

Yabu and rude. It's a term you would use to be nasty or jealous. Your sister is right.

Think you're sister knows you well

Yabu. I suspect your sister was right and that's why you're so angry about it.

People who go around demanding an apology or think they deserve an apology never do. YABU

Eh? No, YABU. You don't deserve an apology, but you do deserve a rude awakening.

Yabu. I think you owe your sister an apology for writing such a rude post about her.

or are you sweet ?

if you are sweet, why would you want an apology ?

How does someone over acheive?

You call your sister a silly bitch?? Nasty nasty nasty. All for asking if you are bitter, which you very plainly are. You were being nasty about your mate and your sister called you on it so now youre being nasty about her. You sound like the type who can never say a nice thing about anyone.

Shocked at how you turned on your sister so easily and so nastily over a trivial fall out. Silly bitch? Really?

Sounds like you've nothing nice to say about anyone op. Your problem is with yourself not others. Trust me.

I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with joking that someone's an overachiever. But asking why you used that word is not at all the same as implying that you have no achievements. I wonder why you made that inference. So, YABU.

Yabu you don't deserve an apology.

Was telling my sister about a close friends successes and described him jokingly as an "overachiever".

Your 'joke' was a put down. She wondered why you needed to be like that.

She didn't imply anything. But the fact that you think she did, says a lot.

This is more about your own insecurities.

SoupDragon · 05/02/2016 07:01

I think the implication was something else and was a comment on your own rudeness.

GruntledOne · 05/02/2016 07:06

You were joking, she was joking. It would be ridiculous to demand an apology - unless you are planning to go off and apologise to the friend you were slagging off.

Hmm and Confused is all I have to say... I am guessing you're both 9?!
