To want to burn the sodding xbox

About a week ago we brought an box one for our oldest two as they have been asking for it as a joint birthday present (their birthdays are a month apart) for quite a while. I've always been anti getting one but gave in.

Now I'm feeling like its the biggest waste of money ever I bloody hate the thing. All the do is argue when it's on and if they aren't arguing with each other they are shouting at their younger brother. We only have one TVs in our house and so they don't play on it all the time but still.

To make things worse my brother gave them three games two where his old ones which he said were for all of them and the last one (mine craft) he said was for dd as it was her birthday. Now she's on a fucking power trip that only those she deems worthy may use "her" game. We have been really strict on the fact all games are for everyone and he comes along saying that. I know it's nice but it's driving me mad.

I know I'm probably being unreasonable as I'm ill and moody.

Yanbu these things seem to bring out the worst for reasons I don't fully understand.

The novelty will wear off and the arguing will subside. Your DD will discover it is more fun to play with her siblings than on her own. Buy another controller so that two can play at once. And remember you now have the power to limit access to the XBox as a punishment (or at least hide the controllers). I also went through a phase of saying "If you can't play nicely together then I'm getting rid of it" - which did temporarily unite them on the same side (vs. me).

We have two controllers as we knew only having one would be a nightmare. It's still a nightmare with two.

I'd be wanting to switch it off every time you hear raised voices. If you can't play nicely you can't play at all but then I would have turned into my mother and my life wouldn't be worth living

You have to take control here, the games are available to all players. Works both ways.
