I'm so sad with loneliness today,
I have a 2 year old who I take to playgroups all the time and I try my best to be friendly but not needy. I think I'm a nice decent person who doesn't smell or anything but in 2 years the only friend I was getting to know has now moved far away. I have old friends from school but they have own families and just seem to have drifted apart. No one apart from my DP ever asks or cares how I am it seems, I have low self worth worth so do wonder why anyone would want to know or talk to me sometimes. I was considering putting myself out there to ask on net huns local (mn local here is not used it doesn't seem) if anyone wants To meet up with kids or something. I want my DD to have friends to play with. I feel so down about it today. I'm bad at making friends and being a friend I spose but I so long to be as inside I crave that kind of relationship with someone. I love being social but don't know how to get to that bit. Sorry for rant. What would you advise me?

Meetup.com is good for local activities. You'll find lots of people on there in similar situations. Do you go to toddler groups etc? Some of them can be good for meeting new people.

I will look at meet up.com then, I'm scared to put myself out there though for some reason. I got to 1 or 2 toddler groups and just feel I don't fit in with any mums, or they are not interested as already have their own friends. To be honest, I would even like a casual mate just to chat to and kids can play. That type of thing. I live in the east London area so you'd think lots of people to meet!

Sign up to your local Street Life forum and choose your area and any surrounding areas.

There's just tons of normal people on there, talking about your local area and they often have meet ups for everyone.
