I love singing carols too. Actually very pleased last year when Dd was in the choir as we got to go to church to watch her and I got to sing too. Not religious at all so would be more than strange if I just popped along to church to sing.
I'm sure there must be some on a music channel on the tv? Turn it up and sing along!

I actually saw some of Songs of Praise yesterday, and was very tempted to sing, there were subtitles

I went to our local church's Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols yesterday which was hugely uplifting. We sang:
Once in Royal David's City
Silent Night
Ding Dong Merily on High
Away in a Manger
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
O Little Town of Bethlem
It Came Upon the Midnight Clear
The First Noel
Oh Come all he Faithful

Pick one and sing your heart out OP!

The two churches local to me both have Festivals of Nine Lessons and Carols: go for it!

Alternatively, tell me were you are and I'll come sing with you Smile

We have carols round the Christmas tree in the town square on the 23rd where I live- maybe there's something similar near you?

YANBU at all! I love singing carols, doesn't feel like Christmas until I've sung my heart out at a carol service. I usually sing with a choir and on the years I haven't been involved in a carol concert I've really missed it! We also always sing carols round the piano as a family on Christmas eve. One of my favourite Christmas traditions :-)

I love a good carol.

We used to go to carols by candlelight at the RAH (pre children) which was just lovely.

There are carols round the Christmas tree in town this evening at 7 - debating going with DS (3) but it's a bit late for him.

Church was full yesterday for the Carol service - you don't have to believe to go, please just rock up.

I also went to a Carol concert at the royal Albert hall on Saturday. It was amazing, best thing ever. A massive spectacular, thousands of people in flashing lights and Christmas jumpers, soloist who'd played the main parts in Wicked, a great conductor and a full orchestra and choir - vast majority of songs the audience stood and sung to. All for £18 - there are even cheaper standing tickets.

Seriously, what is stopping you from going to a carol service/concert - unless you live in an incredibly isolated place there must be several to choose from.

Most churches will be singing carols this week at their carol services, crib services or Midnight Mass. The website www.achurchnearyou.com/ should give you details of what is available locally in the C of E. I have polished the halo of preparedness as I put our services up on that site a month ago.

If you are near a cathedral they usually do a really good service with good quality music.

I've just been over to my church where the flower arrangers are wrestling with the holly candle decorations and the organist is having a final practice. Beginning to feel like Christmas at last....
