and if they don't don't like it the answer is in their own hands instead of bleating all over MN.

In much the same way as the answer is in your hands here, Sallying. The hide button comes in very handy when you aren't interested in a thread.

Exactly Sally.

Facebook posts make my teeth itch.

I am not on FB and I find it hard to understand why anyone is, who is not in college and using it for finding out about group events, or college updates etc. It seems very practical when you're a huge group of likeminded late teens / early 20 somethings. But for people out in the world I find it odd. There are better ways to connect with family and friends, Skype, email, photo sites, etc.

Definitely, I just click the hide button if I'm not keen on seeing a nightmareishly huge spider picture again specific post.

There are so many options if you don't like certain bits but want to stay on.

You're finding it hard to understand Cherry because you're not on it! There must be more to it than college updates to keep millions of people posting on it every day, they're not all immature oddities (only 38% of us them are Wink).

Im on facebook and only went on there (back in the day now) due to my 12 year old son wanting to so I could monitor it.
.
I don't post
I don't care what anyone had for dinner
I don't care how fantastic their kids are

Now we have twitter and instagram Grin

A load of shite so Im with the OP here.

"someone was mean to me on media"

Get off it then Grin

It's funny you should start this thread today.

I was actually trying to remember what people used to start threads about in Chat and AIBU, before FB became the 'go to' subject.

I swear to god if HQ filtered out the word 'Facebook', this place would be like a ghost town.

MN have kindly provided //www.mumsnet.com/talk/facebook, but very few of these whinges seem to end up there.
It does seem doubly sad when people turn to one social medium to complain about what happens to them in another.
