AIBU?

to hope the slightly crazy lady was right...

when DP and I went out a to see Spectre at the cinema last week we stopped off for a glass of wine on the way. As we were sitting outside chatting, a slightly odd lady sat next to us. Young, pretty, not obviously odd or anything. She got a bit agitated then turned and said directly to me...
"What's with the girl baby? Oh, sorry never mind, never mind..."

We were both a bit puzzled but ignored her. She then turned around and announced a baby girl would be arriving in 18months to two years, that she will have green eyes, that 'they' would want to call her Leina (my favourite girls name right now) but that we shouldn't call her that. She apologised for interrupting our evening, said it was hard to ignore 'them' when they were shouting so loudly and she just thought we should know she was coming.

Then she said 'but she's not yours' indicating DP Hmm.

YIKES! Would you totally ignore and laugh it off or feel a bit weirded out by it? Trying to decide if I should have a glass of mulled wine and a chuckle, or schedule some contraception reviews about 9-12 months from now Grin.

DP understandably thinks it's a load of gibberish Grin

I should say I would like to have a baby girl but I'm not hoping I have one with someone other than DP!! (who I will be marrying in 18 months time!)

Seems there are two "hopes" available..
One that you have a daughter
The other is the father will not be your soon to be hubby...!

How does one get green eyes?

sitting on hands trying not to say 'this should be in Chat'

There are strange people the world over and of course you shouldn't listen to her!

Did you enjoy Spectre? I thought it was utter shite! I wanted to gouge my eyes out after the first hour. Luckily I had wine.

I had some woman tell me I should leave my ex as if I didn't I'd miss the one I should be with. My ex was an ass to be fair. I literally dumped him that night as it gave me a reality check about him. A few months later I meant my DH, somewhere I wouldn't normally be if I was with my ex, Fast forward a lot of years, I'm happy with a DD. She said a lot of other random stuff that was bang on too, I look back and thing how odd it all was as I was just in a shop. It changed my life!

I had one say to me "who is X" X is my mum ( unusual name to guess). Dm has been ill and clairvoyant woman said "she will be fine, don't worry she won't need the operation". Six months later dm's medication has worked and she doesn't need an op!!

This is a misreading I think. She's not hoping to have a baby with someone else

Were you with your ex when the woman approached you, Thankful?

chocoraisin - that's very unsettling (especially about the unusual name), but I tend to go for Derren Brown's theories about how people guess these things using intuition and tricks. He is very open about how none of his 'magic' is anything other than an illusion. is amazing and Derren doesn't explain how he does it, but with him it's psychology, not psychic skill.

She had schizophrenia and was hearing voices (IMHO) as a psychiatrist
Being young, pretty and 'not obviously odd' does not exclude this possibility
It's good that you were polite to her but you don't need to take it to heart.

I met an old lady in a coffee shop with my mum and we chatted.
We were tourists, I was about 13 or 14. The old lady said the letter B would be of significence in my life.
DH's surname begins with a B.
I didn't meet him for a few years. Of course I assumed it meant a Christian name not a surname and as a teenager wondered was a Brian or Ben the one. Smile

Never heard of that name, at least not with that spelling
As long as you're sure she doesn't know you from social media or something...most interesting.

How weird, let's hope one bit of her prediction is wrong - and I agree with london that you're going to have to update us in 18 months time!
