Are these just an expensive gimmick? Or AIBU.

Am I filling the fruit tube correctly?

It doesn't taste any different to me?

Does one cut the fruit a certain way?

I've been mugged off haven't I? confused

DonkeyOaty Wed 18-Nov-15 22:30:49

Wait, what? Erm. Link?

TwoSmellyDogs Wed 18-Nov-15 22:34:48

I suppose you know your OP makes just slightly less than bugger all sense do you?

confused

PositivePete Wed 18-Nov-15 22:42:11

What do you mean less than sense?

I'm asking a question ..... AIBU to think it's just a water bottle & they are charging more because you put fruit in it?!

WorraLiberty Wed 18-Nov-15 22:42:11

Slightly less??

I'm totally flummoxed confused

SomedayMyPrinceWillCome Wed 18-Nov-15 22:42:40

I know the ones you're talking about - water bottles with a removable mesh in the middle where you can put fruit etc.
I've been wondering the same, although I haven't bought one yet

Blueprintorange Wed 18-Nov-15 22:43:29

What don't people understand? The OP is asking about fruit water bottles, it says so in the title! confused

PositivePete Wed 18-Nov-15 22:43:21

Yes someday those ones

Not sure why others are flummoxed at the post?

PositivePete Wed 18-Nov-15 22:44:15

Thank you blueprint!

DonkeyOaty Wed 18-Nov-15 22:44:18

Pete. Wtf are you on about. A product for putting fruit in a tube in a bottle?

steff13 Wed 18-Nov-15 22:44:51

You mean the water bottles with the tube in the center that you put fruit in, correct? I don't think they really cost more here, they're about the same as any glass water bottle.

WiIdfire Wed 18-Nov-15 22:45:00

Probably because they, like I, have never heard of these fruit water bottles. Are they made by a particular company? Do you have a link to the website for them?

DonkeyOaty Wed 18-Nov-15 22:45:06

Oh. Well I never. I guess it's one of them I Saw You Coming things huh.

WheresMyBurrito Wed 18-Nov-15 22:45:14

PositivePete Wed 18-Nov-15 22:45:18

Yes! Exactly that ......

Blueprintorange Wed 18-Nov-15 22:45:58

If you google fruit water bottles, there's loads of links and images.

PositivePete Wed 18-Nov-15 22:47:32

They are plastic not glass

KatieLatie Wed 18-Nov-15 23:12:30

Just watch out for constantly sipping fruit water (especially acidic fruit) - not good for your teeth.

I do like fruit in my water and will have a cup of fruit water at the gym, but that is it.

Spilose Wed 18-Nov-15 23:28:03

Google takes 2 seconds. I don't see how all the "eh? What?" posts help.

YANBU I can't tell the difference.

SushiAndTheBanshees Thu 19-Nov-15 00:00:52

Why can't you just cut your fruit up and put it in a regular water bottle? What's the mesh for?

NeedsAsockamnesty Thu 19-Nov-15 00:03:02

Mint op that's the way to go

MarkRuffaloCrumble Thu 19-Nov-15 00:07:22

I guess the mesh stops you getting bits in your water so you just get the very faint flavour of fruit like water that's been in the fridge with no lid on

DP was given one as all his work mates are using them. Not sure why plain old water isn't good enough, but I suppose it's a bit like putting a slice of lemon in it. Just more complicated and wasteful!

Fatmomma99 Thu 19-Nov-15 00:16:38

Sooooo laughing at this thread. I have a new BFF who is 23 years younger than me (we work together and get get on really, really well). My DD is 14 on Sunday, and is closer in age to my new BFF. And also get on really well.

My new BFF has one of these drinking vessels, and my DD described it as "tmblr" (for the benefit of everyone, that = coool and gooood).

I've brought her one (from Sainsbury's, so NOT really "that" tmblr).

Get with it, or get out, you uncool mn-ers!

I'm down with the kidz!

gaggiagirl Thu 19-Nov-15 00:25:09

I used to have one in the days before I got my dishwasher. Couldn't clean it properly so it got binned because the bottom of the bottle was a bit funky.
Leave the fruit to infuse for a good few hours.
I liked mint and cucumber in mine. Nectarine and strawberry are good too. I could really taste it though.

Crazypetlady Thu 19-Nov-15 00:37:13

I did want one I don't like the wasted fruit though
