.....ok they cheesy, you know whats going to happen, bad acting (i know) but they are one of the highlights of christmas. In an uncertain time the fact that everything turns out perfect makes me all gooey. Am i the only one (apart from dh who have just opened the cava...).

Love them. DH tried to get me to watch Miracle on 34th rather than one of the recent made for TV type movies. Not sure if he really knows me at all sometimes. Complaining about the ridiculous premise and bad acting is all part of the enjoyment.

Enjoy another month and a half of it OP. YADNBU

And me!

I've been watching a couple today since me and the dc have been having a sofa day because of the rain. They make me feel all nice and warm.

I absolutely hate them. DH is obsessed, he's unwell at the moment and seems to be dominating the TV.
Today's festive offering was "Scrooged".
Complete bollocks.

Hands bombay the cava and chocolate (and lemsip of her dh) in hope of the christmas feeling... Brand new..yes nice and warm better way of describing them than what i put! The closer the christmas the better the movies.... (Considers booking off week before christmas for the afternoon movie..)

Elf and Home Alone for me too.

Also like Love Actually (saw it when it came out and felt all warm and fuzzy afterwards)

Haven't seen a lot of the "classics" though. I just don't have the time around the festive period and it seems pointless to watch them at a different time if year?

I'm getting into the ultra-cheesy Christmas 24 channel. DH is appalled.

I love Christmas 24 so much. I've started recording them on Sky+ to watch when baby DS is napping. Blush

I love how they all have the same storylines. A single parent with a child who wishes they could find love or mean workaholic who discovers the meaning of Christmas and changes their ways. The best is if both storylines are combined and the single parent and workaholic fall in love.

They are my ultimate guilty pleasure.

You HAVE to watch "The Christmas secret" it's on channel 5 tomorrow. It's bloody brilliant. You're welcome Wink

I'm currently watching a film I recorded off xmas 24. Cheesy as hell with a very young Mark Ruffalo in. Grin

I find the made-for-tv ones too twee on the whole. Can't stand the "cute" kids, and the third rate actors often disappoint. I did see one enjoyable one - Tyne Daly (Marybeth Lacey from Cagney and Lacey) was an uptight wealthy mother who hosted her son's girlfriend for Christmas.

About 1/3 of all made for tv movies seem to have Dean Cain in them too.

I love them too, and Xmas music. I think it's because you don't see/hear them for 10/11 months of the year so they don't get boring.

I lurve Christmas films, and my absolute favourite has to be Elf. LOVE it! Closely followed by Santa Who?
Growing up my favourite was The Snowman and still love it to this day.
Home Alone also brilliant but I wouldn't class it as a Christmas movie as such! Smile
As for Christmas music I absolutely love the whole lot. Give it another couple of weeks and I'll be belting it out... Grin

I love Christmas movies too. I watched The Christmas Card the other day. I'd recorded it last year then never got round to watching it. Someone on here recommended it so I watched it when I saw it was on Christmas 24 or some similar channel. All I can say is thanks for the recommendation as it was just lovely and I wish I'd watched it last year.

Favourites are The Holiday, The muppets Christmas Carol, Elf, Love Actually and obviously It's a Wonderful Life.

I feel like I just want to stay in all day, wear PJs, drink hot chocolate and watch films. A pity I've got shopping to do, marking and planning and dinner to cook sigh.

Village...why didnt you warn me about the christmas secret. (Crying) slow to start but the ending....dh has just called me a little softy. I have extra heating in my heart at the moment as does dh who watched it too. Is it sad that we both cried at the end together...
