broken washer so took a mountain of dirty stuff to the laundrette.
the mashines are so quick, it's fascinating. 20 min for the load.
hardly any time to strike up a conversation with the lady who stripped into her undies to put the joggers into her load as well..

I know they use a swimming pool of water for each wash...

I don't trust 'em smile.

Stuff can't possibly come out of those as clean as when they get three hours in my Bosch.

Shallishanti Sun 25-Oct-15 17:47:04

I always assumed they can't be doing a very good job at that speed

Tarzanlovesgaby Sun 25-Oct-15 17:47:36

but expensive!
I took two loads, one was 8 quid (cavern of a washer).

Tarzanlovesgaby Sun 25-Oct-15 17:49:28

my thought as well.
can't possibly be clean (and dd's white school tights weren't) with such a quick wash.
I did a great bit of people watching and judging

And the industrial tumble driers. Mine takes an absolute age, literally 2hrs if towels but at the launderette, 20 min.

I looked into the cost out of interest, you could get them for about £1500 I think.

Tarzanlovesgaby Sun 25-Oct-15 17:59:20

don't they use a gas instead of air?
and prob an insane amount of energy.

I love them!

I always take a book but rarely read it; I end up staring at the stuff drying.

Is our washing machine really old? Mine washes a load in 30 minutes.

AnneEyhtMeyer Sun 25-Oct-15 18:07:41

DS just gone off to uni, they have a prepaid card, so no digging for change and an ap that texts them when the washing is finished. You can also look to see how many machines are being used before you set out and how long each one has left.

circuit laundry

I expect so Tarz I wouldn't get one (no money, nowhere to put it and my green conscience couldn't take it).

Still loved it though. grin

I miss my dual feed washer and its 20 minutes non Eco washing sad it was 15 years old and plugged into both hot and cold feed.

bruffin Sun 25-Oct-15 18:11:02

My samsung does a 15 minute load and the daily load is 1hr 3 minutes. Its also sings a nice little song when its finished grin

overthemill Sun 25-Oct-15 18:12:54

industrial machines are amazing! my dad used to have a laundrette and i loved going to help load up the machine you bought powder from! i miss that laundrette

Tarzanlovesgaby Sun 25-Oct-15 18:17:19

it was like my dc's toy washing mashine.
<fills up with water>
<two turns>
<drains and spins>
repeat 4 times

Fairylea Sun 25-Oct-15 18:29:13

Bruffin I think we have the same washing machine! I love it!

bruffin Sun 25-Oct-15 18:32:06

I do to Fairylea, but i forgot to measure the depth and it sticks out too much sad

Tarzanlovesgaby Sun 25-Oct-15 21:53:30

there ars different size home washers? shock
<goes off to measure if new mashine will fit>

bruffin Sun 25-Oct-15 22:21:48

Mine bows at the front and is deeper at the middle . Which wouldnt normally be a problem but the space is up against a corner cupbourd and stops the door opening properly.
